Hi guys, I want to start building up a Techno/ Tech-House Live Set with the OT. Im producing since about 7 years, but so far never did any Live stuff. I tried out Live-Producing/ DJ-Producing a couple of times with DJ-Mixers, Push and a couple of MIDI-Controllers, but never achieved anything really satisfying. I was wondering if anyone uses the Ocatrack this way and what experiences they’ve had. Here you have a Live set recorded at the Free culture festival (Malaga/Spain) NoLaptopFest 2013 edition. List of changes from Octatrack OS 1.40 to 1.40A Bug fixes The tempo of the previously played pattern could in some cases still be in use after a pattern change to a pattern with a different tempo, even though the display showed the correct tempo. Pattern tempo was set too early on a queued-up pattern change.

There are lots of twists and turns in the song forms. The goal is to be able to play seamless sets without a determined set order based around the octatrack. Let's be clear: the Octatrack is not actually Ableton Live in a box — nor does it claim to be.

Thanks! I wanted to make that process portable to do it live, and found a solution with the Octatrack, using chord ‘sample chains’ (single files containing a number of equal sized samples) that it automatically splits into up to 64 slices. This is possible on Ableton Live or Maschine too, but the Digitakt feels better set up for spontaneity, whether you make razor-sharp techno rhythms or dusty hip-hop. In some ways the Digitakt offers a decidedly old school experience, but Elektron fans will be pleased to hear that it’s got just as many advanced features squirrelled away as the Analog Rytm and Octatrack.
